Yameena Ansari

I am a Canadian immigration and refugee lawyer and the founder of Ansari Immigration Law, based in Calgary, Alberta. I represent clients across Canada and around the world in refugee, immigration, and Federal Court matters, with a particular focus on protecting individuals fleeing persecution, conflict, gender-based violence, political oppression, and other serious human rights violations. My practice includes refugee claims, refugee appeals, Pre-Removal Risk Assessments (PRRAs), Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) applications, Federal Court judicial reviews, inadmissibility matters, detention reviews, removal proceedings, temporary resident permits, family reunification, and other complex immigration cases. I have extensive experience assisting vulnerable individuals, including survivors of domestic violence, LGBTQ+ claimants, stateless persons, and individuals facing persecution based on religion, ethnicity, political opinion, gender, or sexual orientation.
