Lynn Bruulsema
Mithoowani Waldman Immigration Law Group
Lynn graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2024 and was called to the bar in 2025. Since then, Lynn has successfully represented clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board in refugee hearings, refugee appeals, residency obligation appeals, and sponsorship appeals. She has also successfully litigated numerous judicial review applications before the Federal Court.
Lynn advises on a broad range of immigration applications, including family sponsorships, temporary resident visas, work and study permits, temporary resident permits, and humanitarian and compassionate applications. Her practice is grounded in trauma-informed principles, drawing on experience supporting women experiencing violence through placements at the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic and years of work in the social services sector.
Outside of her legal work, Lynn serves on the board of Helping Hands Street Mission, a local non-profit providing friendship-based support to low-income community members. She also volunteers as an adjudicator for Matthew House Recourse, a program that helps refugee claimants prepare for hearings through simulated proceedings.
